Axis Mereel lived through a lot in his lifetime. He grew up as a Mandalorian, and fought in Exar Kun's Sith War, killing Jedi until the war's conclusion. After that, he more or less disappeared off the radar of both the Jedi and the Mandalorians; those that cared all assumed he was dead.

Contrary to that, he had gone to Deralia, and there fell in love and started a family (though he had had a son among the Mandalorians who had since been adopted by others). He and his wife had a son, Dann Revan Polo, before she was struck down by illness. He mourned her for a very long time, but vowed to raise his young boy as a Mando.

This dream, too, fell through, when the Jedi came to his home one night to take the then-5-year-old child to be trained in the Force - and, when they realized who they were facing, to take him into custody to be tried as a Jedi-killer. There was a violent struggle, and Axis was killed, and his son taken from him.

He arrived in the Nexus twenty-six years after this event, as a spirit that took over his ex-Sith Lord son's body. Since then, he has found two new bodies - the twenty-some weredeer Alexander Nicholas, and the sixteen-year-old telepath Jonathan Floyd - to use, and is a constant presence in Revan's life, trying to make up for lost time between them.
